Senior softball tri-captain Brittany Scott closed her stellar three-year career at Rutgers-Camden with a strong performance in the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs last week. Despite a deceptive 1-1 record in a pair of NJAC playoff games, she only allowed one earned run in 14 innings for a 0.50 ERA, while hurling two complete games. Scott fired a seven-hit shutout with two walks and one strikeout to defeat Stockton University, May 5, while going 2-for-3 with one run scored offensively. In the Raptors’ final game of the season, a 4-0 loss to The College of New Jersey on May 7, Scott hurled a five-hitter and only allowed one earned run. She walked two and struck out one. She finished her Scarlet Raptor career ranking second in program history in pitching appearances (96), at bats (2,219), batters faced (2,512), starts (85), complete games (76), innings (575.2) and wins (48), while posting a career 2.06 ERA, 389 strikeouts and 13 shutouts. Offensively, she collected 111 hits and 79 RBIs in her three seasons with the Raptors, while compiling some of the program’s all-time best career marks with a .334 batting average, a .500 slugging percentage and a .408 on-base percentage.
