Cameron Dobbins completed his phenomenal freshman year at Rutgers-Camden with a strong performance at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 18-19 at Westfield State University. After qualifying for the 100-meter dash finals by placing third of 31 athletes in the preliminaries (10.77), he finished fifth of eight in the finals (10.79) as part of a busy day on May 19. He also placed fourth of 28 in the 200-meter dash (21.74) and anchored the 4x100 team to a sixth-place finish out of 31 teams (42.27). Today’s final Raptor of the Week honor for the 2015-16 scholastic year marks the third time Dobbins earned the award during outdoor track season. He also won it three times for indoor track. Among his numerous accomplishments this year, Dobbins was the New Jersey Athletic Conference champion during indoor season in the 200-meter dash and with the 4x200 relay team, earned four honors as the NJAC Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week, captured two honors as the ECAC Div. III Metro Rookie of the Week during indoor season and tied Rutgers-Camden’s indoor mark for the 60-meter dash (7.02). During the outdoor track season, Dobbins set program records in the 100-meter dash (10.70), the 200-meter dash (21.68) and with the 4x100 team (42.00), captured three honors as the NJAC Rookie of the Week, added one ECAC Div. III Metro/Upstate Rookie of the Week honor and earned NJAC Second Team honors in both the 100-meter dash and the 4x100 relay. He also captured team MVP honors for indoor track.
