Junior Alex Smart poured in a game-high 27 points for the Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball team in the Scarlet Raptors’ lone game last week. During Friday’s loss to Berkeley College, Smart shot 11-for-21 from the floor, including 2-for-4 from three-point range, and 3-for-6 from the foul line to produce the Raptors’ highest-scoring game so far this season. He added six rebounds, one assist, one steal and tied for game-high honors with two blocked shots. In his first season at Rutgers-Camden, the guard/forward is averaging 15.3 points per game (second on the team) and 5.4 rebounds (third). He has scored in double figures in six of his seven games.
