Sophomore co-captain Annalise Kipp had a strong performance over the weekend for the Rutgers-Camden women’s tennis team. The Scarlet Raptors’ top singles player, Kipp won both of her matches at the first singles spot, posting a 6-1, 5-7 (10-4) victory against New Jersey Athletic Conference rival Ramapo College on Saturday and recording a 7-5, 6-4 victory against Gwynedd Mercy University Sunday. The two wins raised her record to 3-1 at first singles this season and gave her a three-match winning streak at that spot. She also teamed with fellow sophomore co-captain Danielle Lemma at the first doubles position and battled two of the top teams on the schedule to narrow losses, dropping a 9-7 decision against Ramapo and an 8-5 match against Gwynedd Mercy. Kipp, who was a two-time New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week last season while playing first singles in every match as a freshman, now owns an 8-6 career record at the Scarlet Raptors’ top singles spot. Today’s Raptor of the Week honor is the second for Kipp during her career. She also won the honor on Oct. 17, 2016.
