Senior forward/center Michelle Obasi had a big week for the Rutgers-Camden women’s basketball team, averaging a double-double of 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in two games, while adding four blocked shots, five steals and one assist. In a narrow loss to The College of New Jersey Tuesday, she collected a game-high 27 points, one shy of her career high, while adding a team-high eight rebounds. She shot 12-for-20 from the field. In a 68-64 win at Gallaudet University Sunday, she notched her 13th career double-double, netting 16 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while adding four steals, two blocks and one assist. The rebounds lifted her to 633 for her career and into ninth place on the program’s all-time list. She also is on the verge of joining the 1,000-point club for her career, needing only 50 more to become the 12th Rutgers-Camden player to reach 1,000 points. With her 18-for-28 performance from the field last week, she now owns 404 career field goals, passing the NCAA minimum of 400 to qualify for career field goal percentage. Her current .411 career field goal percentage ranks sixth on the program’s all-time list. She also is 18th in career steals (119).
