Junior track star Cameron Dobbins becomes Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week for the third time this winter after dominating the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 19. Dobbins captured NJAC titles in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes to earn 10 points in each event. He also ran on the Scarlet Raptors’ eighth-place 4x400 relay team, capturing another point, as he helped to account for 21 of Rutgers-Camden’s 35 total points. Dobbins posted a time of 6.98 in the 60-meter preliminaries to finish first of 18 athletes and then clocked a 6.96 time in winning the eight-man finals. He posted a time of 21.80 in the 200-meter dash, finishing first of 20 athletes and breaking the old Rutgers-Camden program record of 22.09 set by Matt Curtis at the 2014 NJAC Championships. Not only has Dobbins run an ECAC-qualifying time in both events at every meet he has run them this season, but his times are among the best in all of NCAA Division III: he currently ranks 12th in the 60-meter dash and 14th in the 200-meter dash. Dobbins holds the Rutgers-Camden indoor track records in the 60-, 200- and 300-meter dashes and as a member of the 4x160 and 1600 sprint medley teams, in addition to holding three program outdoor track marks. He will be competing in the ECAC Division III Track & Field Championships this weekend at the 168th Street Armory in New York City. Dobbins also captured the Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week honor this winter on Dec. 4 and Jan. 22.
