Junior Drew Harper earns his third Raptor of the Week honor this scholastic year after a pair of stellar performances for the outdoor track team last week. On Wednesday, he competed in the hammer throw at Gwynedd Mercy University’s Mid-Week Twilight Invitational and broke his own program record with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 40.69 meters, while finishing seventh of 17. Over the weekend at Stockton University’s Osprey Open, he shattered that hammer mark with a throw of 43.76 meters, notching another ECAC qualifier while finishing fourth of 26. He also finished eighth of 30 in the shot put (with an ECAC qualifier and a PR of 12.91 meters) at the Osprey Open and placed 15th of 32 in the discus (35.19 meters). Overall, he competed in four events during the week, notching three ECAC qualifiers and raising his own program hammer mark twice. Harper also was the Raptor of the Week on December 11, 2017 during indoor track season and collected his second Raptor of the Week honor on March 26 during outdoor track season.
