Senior right fielder Brandon Cornelius turned in an unbelievable week for the Rutgers-Camden baseball team, hitting a torrid .667 with a slugging percentage of 1.000 and a .667 on-base percentage in six games. He went 16-for-24 with nine runs, 12 RBIs, three walks, one hit by pitch, six doubles and one triple in six games, while helping the Scarlet Raptors post a 4-2 record, including a 3-1 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Cornelius started his week with a bang, going 6-for-6 with three doubles and nine total bases in a win at Neumann University Wednesday. His six hits and three doubles tied program single-game records. He added four runs and four RBIs in that game. He went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, two sacrifice flies (tying another program single-game mark) and three RBIs at Stockton on Thursday, then added a 2-for-4 game with one double, one run and two RBIs against Stockton in a home game Friday. In a doubleheader at Montclair State Saturday, he went 1-for-4 with a triple in the first game and 4-for-4 with a double, one run and two RBIs in the nightcap. He closed his big week against Misericordia University Sunday, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. For the season, Cornelius is hitting a red-hot .417 with 11 doubles, five home runs, 35 runs, 36 RBIs and 78 total bases, all team-leading totals. Two of his home runs were grand slams.
