Rutgers University-Camden golf star Richard Stolz is off to a blazing start to his senior spring semester. In the Scarlet Raptors’ three invitationals this spring, Stolz has earned medalist honors each time, including April 1 at the Stevenson Spring Invitational, when he shot an even-par 71 at the Piney Branch Golf Club (Upperco, Maryland) to beat a field of 25 golfers. Stolz started his spring season March 20 as the medalist in a field of 28 golfers at the Myrtle Beach Shootout, carding a 76 at the Par 72 Barefoot Resorts Dye Course (Myrtle Beach, South Carolina). He added a 3-over par 74 at the Seaview Bay Course (Galloway, New Jersey) on March 27 to win the 22-golfer Stockton University Invitational. Stolz has been a five-time medalist during his senior season, including twice during the fall semester, and has captured three honors as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week. In three rounds this spring he is averaging 73.7 after averaging 74.2 in six rounds during the fall semester.
