Junior guard Arian Azemi turned in a huge performance as the Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball team opened its New Jersey Athletic Conference season with a loss at Rowan University on Nov. 26. Azemi, a first-year Scarlet Raptor who transferred to Rutgers-Camden after two seasons with San Bernardino Valley College, scored a game-high 29 points against the Profs, shooting 12-for-19 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from three-point range. He added five rebounds, three steals, one assist and one blocked shot. Azemi has helped the Scarlet Raptors get their season off to a 3-2 start, averaging 19.6 points and 6.8 rebounds, while leading the team with 25 assists and 17 steals. He is tied for the club lead with four blocks and is shooting 38-for-77 (.494) from the floor.
