Sophomore Emily Hilt competed in her first indoor track meet at Rutgers-Camden on Dec. 6 and the former standout at Rowan College at Gloucester County immediately shattered a pair of Scarlet Raptor program records. Hilt set the Rutgers-Camden women’s indoor track marks in the shot put (11.58 meters) and the weight throw (14.43 meters) at the Fastrack Season Opener, held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York. She finished fourth of 29 athletes in the shot put, while beating Mariah Brown’s old program record of 11.51 meters, set on Feb. 24, 2012 at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships. She destroyed the old program mark of 12.93 in the weight throw, which was set by Brianna Kearse on Jan. 15, 2016 at the Golden Bear Invitational. Hilt finished third of 24 athletes in the weight throw competition.
