Men’s basketball senior forward Isaac Destin etched his name into Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball history on Jan. 6 when he became the 14th player in program history to join the 1,000-point club. Destin collected 12 points at Gwynedd Mercy University, including a layup 2:10 into the game to raise his career scoring total to 1,001. In his second game of the week, Destin collected his fifth double-double of the season, notching a game-high 13 rebounds and tying for game-high scoring honors with 25 points against Ramapo College Jan. 8. He added game highs of eight rebounds and three blocked shots on Jan. 11 against Rutgers-Newark. For the season, Destin is second on the team in scoring (18.5 points per game) and leads the team in rebounds (8.6 rpg) and blocked shots (12). The New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Nov. 11 this season, Destin has now earned three Raptor of the Week honors this season. He previously was recognized on both Nov. 11 and Nov. 25.
