For the second straight week and the fourth time during the indoor track season, sophomore Emily Hilt earned Raptor of the Week honors after another outstanding performance Saturday at the Susquehanna University Invitational. Hilt won the 36-athlete shot put competition with a distance of 12.62 meters to break the program record for the fifth time this season. It marked the fourth consecutive meet that Hilt has raised her own program standard in the shot put and produced her fifth ECAC-qualifier in the shot put out of her six meets of competition in the event. Hilt also finished third out of 29 athletes with a weight throw of 14.23 meters, giving her the third ECAC qualifier she has produced out of her four meets competing in that event. Hilt will head into the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Feb. 24 owning the NJAC’s top throw in the shot put this season. She also owns the sixth-best weight throw in the NJAC this winter. She previously won Raptor of the Week honors on December 9, January 27 and February 10. She also has been the NJAC Field Athlete of the Week for Women’s Track & Field on both December 16 and February 10.
