Emily Hilt continued her outstanding season in field events with the Rutgers-Camden women’s track team as she competed in three throwing events at the Bill Fritz Track and Field Invitational Saturday at Rowan University. Hilt broke her own program record with a throw of 43.75 meters in the hammer, passing the mark of 42.14 meters she set at the season’s opening meet March 26. She finished fifth of 11 competitors in that event. She also finished first out of 10 competitors in the shot put with a 12.02-meter mark, nearly matching her own program record of 12.16 meters set on April 2. In her third event, she placed sixth of 12 athletes with a discus throw of 33.27 meters. In three meets this spring, Hilt has finished first on two occasions in the shot put, while placing third with her record-setting throw. She has finished in the top five in all three of her hammer competitions and placed in the top six during her three discus competitions.
