Freshman right fielder Frankie Romond had a sensational week for the Rutgers University-Camden baseball team, hitting .583 (14-for-24) while starting all six games for the Scarlet Raptors. He had one double, one triple, six runs, eight RBIs, four walks and one HBP. He added one sacrifice and went 2-for-3 on stolen base attempts. Romond’s biggest game came April 12 against Neumann University when he went 5-for-5 with four RBIs and one run scored. The five hits were one shy of the program’s single-game record. For the season, he is tied for second on the team with a .337 batting average and 19 runs, while placing fourth with 14 RBIs. He is tied for the team lead with six stolen bases.
