Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Senior center fielder Kimmy Musarra closed her stellar Rutgers-Camden softball career hitting .368 in six games last week (7-for-19), including .438 (7-for-16) in her last five games, which included a trio of two-hit games. She scored six runs during the week, while adding three walks, three stolen bases, two sacrifices and one RBI. The Scarlet Raptors’ leadoff hitter, Musarra finished her final Rutgers-Camden season leading the team in hitting (.385), slugging (.410), on-base percentage (.478), OPS (.888), hits (30), runs (21), total bases (32), walks (14) and stolen bases (11). She added six RBIs and four sacrifices. A New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team player as a junior and a two-time NJAC Academic Honorable Mention student (those honors have yet to be announced for this season), Musarra went 2-for-4 with one run in the final game of her career Saturday against Kean University. She also made an outstanding diving catch in center field for her final defensive play as a Scarlet Raptor. Musarra started all 86 games during her four-year Rutgers-Camden career, compiling a .304 batting average, 53 runs, 41 walks, 25 steals and 20 sacrifices (tied for fourth on the program’s all-time list).
