Senior guard/forward Jalissa Pitts became the 15th player in Rutgers University-Camden women’s basketball history to reach the 1,000-point milestone for her career when she sunk a first-quarter foul shot at Rutgers-Newark Saturday. She finished the game with 27 points to hike her career total to 1,023. She shot a sizzling 12-for-14 from the foul line in that contest, while shooting 7-for-11 from the floor (1-for-1 from three-point range) and added seven rebounds, six assists and one steal. Her performance helped the Scarlet Raptors win their first New Jersey Athletic Conference game of the season. Earlier in the week, she notched her second double-double of the year with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Stockton University. Jalissa Pitts has now captured five honors this winter as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week. She also won the recognition on Nov. 14, Nov. 21, Dec. 5 and Dec. 19.
