Senior Emily Hilt broke her own program record while winning the hammer throw competition on Saturday at Widener University’s Danny Curran Invitational. Hilt, who finished first in a field of 33 athletes, had a hammer throw of 54.29 meters to shatter her old Rutgers-Camden mark of 52.42 meters, which was set while winning the ECAC Championships on May 18, 2022. The Raptor of the Week honor is the second this scholastic year for Hilt, who also won it during indoor track season on February 6 after finishing first of 40 athletes in the weight throw. Hilt holds five Rutgers-Camden program records, including the hammer throw, shot put and discus during outdoor season and the weight throw and shot put for indoor track and field.
