Junior Sarah Ahrens earned her second Raptor of the Week honor for the 2022-23 scholastic year after a stellar performance in four matches during the week. Ahrens, who plays both first singles and first, went 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles during the week as she raised her singles mark to 9-3 and her doubles record to 7-6 this year. She earned a comeback 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 singles victory against Arcadia Monday, while adding an 8-4 doubles win with Laurel DiStefano. In the Raptors’ lone loss of the week, against Stockton University, she notched the only win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at first singles, while losing her doubles match with DiStefano. On Sunday, in a tri-match at King’s College, she earned a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins against both King’s and Elizabethtown College, while teaming with DiStefano for a pair of doubles wins, beating King’s, 8-2, and Elizabethtown, 8-1. Ahrens, who previously played tennis at Camden County College, now owns 21 singles wins and 22 doubles victories as she competes in her second year at Rutgers-Camden. She previously won the Raptor of the Week honor this scholastic year on October 10.
