Senior Emily Hilt capped her brilliant Rutgers-Camden career finishing 17th of 22 in the women’s hammer throw at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday, May 27. Hilt had a throw of 50.37 meters in the event held at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, New York. It was her second consecutive trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships after finishing 14th during the 2022 meet. A two-time New Jersey Athletic Conference hammer champion, Hilt also won the NJAC shot put title during the 2019-20 indoor season. Overall, she earned 13 all-conference honors, including NJAC Honorable Mention this spring in both the shot put and the discus, in addition to her conference hammer title with a meet-record 54.19-meter throw. Among her numerous accomplishments are outdoor program records in the hammer throw (54.33 meters) and the shot put (13.03 meters), as well as indoor program records in the weight throw (16.60 meters) and the shot put (13.01 meters). Today’s Raptor of the Week honor is the fourth this scholastic year for Hilt, in addition to Feb. 6, April 3 and May 8. It was the 17th Raptor of the Week of her stellar career.
