Rutgers-Camden middle blocker/right side Kaliyah Moss becomes the fourth different member of the volleyball program to capture Raptor of the Week honors this semester after another outstanding performances in four matches last week. Moss, a senior academically who has junior athletic eligibility in volleyball, appeared in 12 of the Raptors’ 16 sets during a 2-2 week, leading Rutgers-Camden with 42 kills and a .422 hitting percentage. She added seven digs, seven blocks (three solo, four assisted), three aces and one assist. She had 10 kills and hit .474 against Penn State-Schuylkill (Oct. 23), had 18 kills and hit .417 against Gwynedd Mercy (Oct. 25), notched eight kills and hit .227 in a match against Elizabeth (Oct. 28) and then played only one set in the second match on Oct. 28, but had six kills in six attempts for a 1.000 hitting percentage against Wilkes University. For the season, Moss leads the team with 216 kills and a .357 hitting percentage, while placing second on the Scarlet Raptors with 56 blocks (20 solo). She also has added 86 digs, 26 aces and eight assists. Named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Oct. 9, Moss already is tied for eighth among the program’s career leaders in blocks (144), ranks 14th in kills (507) and is 17th in total attacks (1,204), despite playing in only her second season with the team.
