Freshman guard/forward Keion Elliott had the best game of his young college career to help the Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball team beat Kean University, 71-60, in a big New Jersey Athletic Conference contest December 13. It was the Scarlet Raptors’ only game of the week and lifted the team’s record to 5-6 overall and 2-4 in NJAC play. Elliott collected career highs of 13 points, three rebounds and three assists, while also adding two steals. He shot 4-for-5 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the foul line. He hit a pair of three-point field goal attempts, including a huge trey late in the second half to give the Raptors their first lead of the game, 57-55. That shot put Rutgers-Camden ahead to stay. In 10 games this season, Elliott is averaging 3.8 points and 0.6 rebounds. He also has 11 assists, nine steals and three blocked shots.
