Senior second baseman Danny Vazquez continued his hot start to the 2024 season, hitting .500 (6-for12) in three games last week to extend his hitting streak to six games. Vazquez had two runs, one RBI and one stolen base during the week, while collecting six putouts and eight assists in his 14 defensive chances. He also turned four double plays. Entering Monday’s game in Florida, Vazquez owns a .289 career batting average and 125 hits. He also is closing in on the Rutgers-Camden career defensive records for assists (his 299 are 29 shy of tying the record) and double plays (he has 72, 10 shy of tying the record).
