Rutgers-Camden junior forward Cameron Downs earned his second Raptor of the Week honor this season after averaging 18.5 points and eight rebounds last week for the men’s basketball team. He added six assists and four blocked shots over the Scarlet Raptors’ two games. After notching 11 points and six rebounds in a game at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, Downs collected his second double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday’s game against Montclair State University. He added five assists and tied his career high with three blocked shots. Downs’ performance lifted his career scoring output to 991 points, leaving him only nine points shy of becoming the 15th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone. He will get his next chance to reach 1,000 points when the Scarlet Raptors return to action on January 8, 2025, for a New Jersey Athletic Conference home game against Stockton University.
