Senior first baseman Diego Salazar has been one of the key cogs in a 4-1 start for the Rutgers-Camden baseball team, leading the team with a .444 batting average and a .722 slugging percentage, while hitting the lone home run on the team so far this season. While helping the team post a 2-1 record in their three games last week, Salazar hit .600 (6-for-10) with a double, two runs, three RBIs, one walk, a .700 slugging percentage and a .636 on-base percentage. He also handled all of his defensive chances, collecting 22 putouts and participating in one double play. Overall on the season he owns a 1.000 fielding percentage with 34 putouts and one assist, while adding three double plays. He has hit safely in all four of his starts, including two multi-hit games (one 4-for-4 game), with his only hitless game coming in a pinch-hitting appearance.
