Rutgers-Camden Athletics

The Rutgers University-Camden baseball team set program history last week when it completed its sweep through the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships to win the first NJAC title in team history. After opening the rain-delayed NJAC playoffs the previous week with a 7-4 win at top-ranked Kean and a 12-8, 10-inning win at host Montclair State, the delayed playoffs switched to Camden, where the Scarlet Raptors posted a 19-7 victory over Rowan in the winners’ bracket final and completed their championship sweep two days later with a 5-2 win over The College of New Jersey. The title earned the Scarlet Raptors an automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament. They will play Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Friday in a first-round game at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
