Senior Brandon Valeri turned in a stellar performance in the center midfield as the Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer team won its New Jersey Athletic Conference opener on Saturday with a 4-1 victory over Ramapo College. Valeri collected two goals, including the game winner, and one assist in addition to his non-stop hustle all over the pitch. An All-NJAC player last season, Valeri is one of the Scarlet Raptors’ team captains for the second straight season. He has started all nine games for Rutgers-Camden and is third on the team in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points.
