Junior left fielder Matt McAleer had a torrid week at the plate, helping the Rutgers-Camden baseball team post a 4-1 record last week, including a 4-0 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. McAleer hit .522 (12-for-23) out of the ninth spot in the batting order, scoring seven runs and driving home two. McAleer had two hits in a loss at Widener on Tuesday, then had three and four hits in back-to-back wins against The College of New Jersey on Thursday and Friday. In Saturday’s doubleheader sweep over Rutgers-Newark, he had two hits in the opener and one in the nightcap. His big week stretched his current hitting streak to seven games (.483, 14-for-29, with seven runs and four RBIs). For the season, McAleer is hitting .365.
