Sophomore middle hitter Olivia Rowland has helped to fuel a surge that has put the Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team on the verge of reaching the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs. The Scarlet Raptors split four matches last week, including a key sweep over NJAC opponent New Jersey City University, with Rowland collecting 43 kills and nine blocks (two solo, seven assisted) in the process. She hit .337 overall, including a .556 percentage (five kills, no errors in nine attempts) in the sweep against NJCU. In five-set matches against Delaware Valley College and the University of Scranton, she had 17 kills apiece while hitting .429 and .324, respectively. For the season, Rowland leads the team with 83 blocks (31 solo) and is second with 199 kills. The Raptors can wrap up the sixth and final NJAC playoff spot if they post a victory at Rutgers-Newark Tuesday.
