Mitch Grotti (Milmay, NJ/Millville)

Mitch Grotti has been a standout for the Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer program for four years, and the senior midfielder put his stamp on the program record book Saturday with his 44th career goal in the Scarlet Raptors’ 4-3 overtime victory against Rutgers-Newark. The goal set a program record, breaking the mark of 43 goals scored by George Scafidi (1974-77). Grotti also owns 108 career points, two behind all-time leader Mike Zeno (1992-95). For the season, Grotti is second on the Raptors in scoring with 14 points (four goals and a team-high six assists), helping Rutgers-Camden build a 9-0 record to set program marks for consecutive wins and the best perfect start in its history. The Scarlet Raptors also own a 21-game undefeated streak (18-0-3) dating back to last season, another program record.
