Junior Trey Gilliard didn’t waste any time turning in a stellar performance when the Rutgers-Camden indoor track team opened its season Saturday at the Bow-Tie Track Classic at Ursinus College. Gilliard ran an ECAC qualifier in the 60-meter dash, setting a Rutgers-Camden program record in the process. He qualified for the 60-meter finals by finishing fifth of 63 athletes with a 7.17 time and then ran his ECAC qualifier and Raptor record time of 7.07 to finish fourth of six in the finals. Gilliard also finished second in a field of 50 in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 23.35 to barely miss another ECAC qualifier. He capped his day running the third leg on the Raptors’ 4x200 team, which placed 14th of 20 in a time of 1:38.99.
