Senior guard/forward Teon Russell earned his second Raptor of the Week honor this month after his double-double helped the Scarlet Raptors earn a huge victory at New Jersey City University in their final regular-season game Feb. 18. Russell notched 20 points and a game-high 12 game-high 12 rebounds for the 23rd double-double of his career, helping the Raptors post an 80-69 victory and snap a 19-game losing streak against the Gothic Knights. Rutgers-Camden hadn’t defeated NJCU since Feb. 9, 2002 in Camden and hadn’t won in Jersey City since Jan. 20, 1988. Russell, who added four assists, three blocked shots and one steal, helped the Raptors raise their record to 14-11 and increase their earning an ECAC tournament berth when the field is announced on March 4. In 71 career games at Rutgers-Camden, Russell owns 975 points (13.7 ppg) and is seventh on the program’s all-time rebounding list with 568 (8.0 rpg). Russell also was the Raptor of the Week on February 2.
