Sophomore libero Erin Thompson sparked the Rutgers-Camden volleyball team to a 2-0 record with 3-0 sweeps over Ursinus College and William Paterson University last week. In the win over Ursinus Sept. 8, she notched her season high of 25 digs, only three shy of her personal best set against Delaware Valley College Sept. 2, 2014, and also added one service ace. Two days later, her stellar play and all-out hustle helped the Raptors sweep William Paterson in their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener. She had 17 digs and one assist in the match. For the season, she already owns 120 digs, passing the 110 she had as a freshman, and is averaging 5.71 digs per set, a figure that ranks a close second in the NJAC statistics (the leader is averaging 5.73).
