After playing four seasons of collegiate softball in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, including the last three at Rowan University, Jessica Phillips joined another NJAC program in 2018 as an assistant coach at Rutgers-Camden. She returns for her third season in 2020.
Phillips started 126 games at Rowan University from 2013-15 after playing her freshman season at William Paterson University. She played in 42 games and hit .313 with 18 RBIs as a rookie with the Pioneers. During her three seasons with the Profs, she compiled a .274 career batting average (96-for-350) with 46 runs, 48 RBIs and 29 walks.
As a sophomore with the Profs, Phillips hit .311 with 19 RBIs and 26 runs, while also earning Rowan Scholar-Athlete recognition. During her junior season in 2014 she compiled a .981 fielding percentage at third base and hit .170 while staring all of her 32 games. Phillips had a big senior year with the Profs, starting 44 games, hitting .308 and collecting 25 RBIs and 15 runs scored. She was named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association East All-Region Third Team.
