CHESTER, Penn. (Sept. 12, 2018) – Alyssa Dionisio collected a goal and an assist in the first half to power the Widener University women's soccer team over Rutgers University-Camden, 2-0, in a non-conference game here Wednesday night.
The victory was the first of the season for the Pride, which improves to 1-2-1. The Scarlet Raptors fall to 2-3.
Widener leads the all-time series, 8-4, and has won the last two games between the two teams.
The host team scored the only goal it needed at 13:36 when Dionisio's cross was finished by Isabella Hill for her first tally of the year. Dionisio, a junior forward, notched her second goal of the season at 29:27, off a cross from Bella Abrams.
Widener held a 19-6 advantage in shots, including a 7-3 margin in shots on goal. The Pride also had a slim 2-1 edge in corner kicks.

Natalie Eberhardt had five saves.
The game marked the 50th career contest at Rutgers-Camden for senior midfielder
Melissa Peel (pictured above), who has started 46 of those games.
Rutgers-Camden begins its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule Saturday, hosting Montclair State University at 1 p.m.
