EWING, N.J. (Sept. 26, 2018) – The nationally-ranked College of New Jersey women's soccer team used an early own goal to take the lead for good and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 2-0, here Wednesday night.
The Scarlet Raptors fell to 4-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the NJAC. TCNJ, ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Top 25 and No. 8 in the
D3soccer.com Top 25 polls this week, improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
The Lions lead the all-time series against Rutgers-Camden, 18-1, and have won the last 15 games in the rivalry. The 2-0 score was the closest the Raptors have come to the Lions since another 2-0 defeat in 2009.
The Lions jumped on the scoreboard at 12:04 on an own goal. They added an insurance tally at 57:12 when Arielle Curtis scored her second tally of the season. She hit a shot from 35 yards out off of an attempted clear by the Raptors.

TCNJ goalie Nicole DiPasquale earned the shutout without a save.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday for a 1 p.m. Homecoming Day game against NJAC rival New Jersey City University.
