Misko, Hilt, Marini shine at NYC Gotham Cup
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Jan. 20, 2022) – The last time
Jude Misko competed for the Rutgers University-Camden track program, he won the NCAA Division III national championship in the hammer throw during outdoor season last May.
Misko made his 2021-22 indoor track debut here Friday at the NYC Gotham Cup and turned in another outstanding performance, while a pair of athletes from the Rutgers-Camden women's team continued their fine seasons.
The Scarlet Raptors sent three throwers to the NYC Gotham Cup, which was held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
Misko finished sixth of 39 men in the weight throw, trailing only five Division I athletes. The senior star recorded a throw of 16.22 meters.
A pair of Raptor women, who started their indoor season back in December, continued their excellent work in two events. Senior
Emily Hilt placed sixth of 43 in the shot put (12.19 meters), trailing only Division I athletes, and 11th of 39 in the weight throw (14.06 meters).
Alexis Marini, a sophomore academically who has freshman eligibility for indoor track, also competed in both the shot put and weight throw competitions. She finished 22nd in the shot put (10.10 meters) and 27th in the weight throw (10.84 meters).
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday when the rest of the indoor track team will compete in the Collegeville Classic at Ursinus College.
