Hilt notches two ECAC qualifiers at Fasttrack National Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, NY. (Feb. 11, 2022) – Rutgers University-Camden senior Emily Hilt finished 10th in the shot put and 18th in the weight throw, with an ECAC qualifier in both events, as the Scarlet Raptors competed Friday at the Fasttrack National Invitational. The meet was held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York.
 
Hilt launched a shot put of 11.93 meters to finish 10th of 59 in the event and earn her fourth ECAC qualifier in as many attempts in that event this season. She also earned her fourth ECAC qualifier in as many meets in the weight throw, placing 18th of 65 with a 14.29-meter throw.
 
Hilt wasn't the only Scarlet Raptor to have a strong performance in the throwing events. Alexis Marini, a sophomore academically who has freshman eligibility for indoor track, finished 24th in the shot put with a personal best of 11.30 meters. She also was 56th in the weight throw (10.27 meters).
 
Freshman Alyson Petro finished 33rd of 59 in the 60-meter dash (8.56) and 70th of 77 in the long jump (4.21 meters),
 
On the men's side, junior Andrew Barnhardt paced the Scarlet Raptors by finishing 24th of 42 in the mile run with a personal best time of 4:44.90.
 
The Scarlet Raptors return to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex Feb. 21 for the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
