Hilt breaks program shot put mark as Raptors finish two-day NJAC Championships
EWING, NJ (May 9, 2022) – One day after winning the New Jersey Athletic Conference title in the women's hammer throw, Rutgers University-Camden senior
Emily Hilt turned in another stellar performance on the last day of the NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships here Monday.
Hilt finished second in the women's shot put, breaking her own program record in the process. She also added a fifth-place finish in the discus to her two-day NJAC haul.

Hilt's performance helped the Rutgers-Camden women collect 36 points as they finished eighth at the NJAC championships. The College of New Jersey women, competing on their home track, won the NJAC title with 245 points.
On the men's side, Rutgers-Camden placed seventh with 22 points, sparked by the Sunday performance of senior
Jude Misko, who won the NJAC men's hammer throw title for the third time in his career. Rowan University won the men's team title with 300 points.
Hilt finished second of 23 athletes with a shot put of 13.03 meters. She broke her old program record of 12.99 meters, set May 20, 2021 at the Rowan Last Chance Meet. She also placed fifth of 24 athletes in the discus with a throw of 36.48 meters, a distance that was second only to her program record of 37.49 meters set on April 22.
Rutgers-Camden also received another strong performance from sophomore thrower
Alexis Marini, who finished seventh in the discus (32.73 meters) and ninth in the shot put (a PR of 11.16 meters). Freshman
Bree Smith was 20th in the discus (a PR of 22.20 meters).
Freshman
Alyson Petro completed her two-day competition in the heptathlon. In only the second heptathlon of her career, she finished fourth in the field of four competitors, but beat her previous point total of 2,663. She scored 2,942 points while setting a PR in three events, including both the 100-meter hurdles (18.05) and the high jump (1.46 meters) on Sunday. During Monday's conclusion of the heptathlon, Petro finished fourth in her three events, the long jump (4.57 meters), the 800-meter run (3:07.09) and the javelin (a PR of 16.78 meters).
The Rutgers-Camden men also received strong performances, led by freshman
Tobias Prall, who placed sixth of 12 with a triple jump of 13.53 meters. He barely missed reaching his own program record of 13.59 meters, set on April 1.
Senior
Christopher Townsend finished 10th of 30 athletes at 800 meters (2:00.82), while junior
Jason Hyland was 18th of 28 at 1,500 meters (a PR of 4:19.53).
Junior
Andrew Barnhardt finished 18th of 22 in the 5,000-meter run (17:02.48).
