READING, Penn. (Sept. 17, 2022) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team had plenty of opportunities to break open a scoreless game here Saturday afternoon, but all it took was one shot for the Raptors to get their first win of the season.
Sophomore
Hannah Crowley provided the game's lone goal in the 78th minute as the Scarlet Raptors defeated Albright College, 1-0. It was the first victory for Rutgers-Camden first-year Head Coach
Kevin Luber. His club improves to 1-3-1.
Albright falls to 1-4-3, including 0-4-3 since an opening day win.
Rutgers-Camden held a 10-2 advantage in shots, including a 6-0 margin in shots on goal, forcing Albright freshman goalie Alexis Solt to make five saves. Raptor junior keeper
Kayla McKeever made one save to earn her fourth career shutout.
Crowley's first tally of the season proved to be the difference on a shot high into the center of the goal at 77:52. It was her third career goal and second career game-winning tally.
After three straight games on the road, the Scarlet Raptors return home for a tough non-conference game Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. They entertain Messiah University, which is currently ranked #3 nationally in Division III.
