Raptor golfers finish third at United East Preview
ABBOTTSTOWN, Penn. (Sept. 27, 2022) – When we last saw
Patrick DeMareo on the golf course for Rutgers University-Camden last spring, he was earning United East First Team honors and securing a spot on the United East All-Sportsmanship Team.
The senior picked up this season where he left off last year when the Scarlet Raptors opened their fall semester at the United East Preview Tournament Monday. DeMareo carded a 1-over par 72 to finish second out of 36 golfers at the 6,485-yard Hanover Country Club.
Penn College captured the seven-team event with a 314 score, followed by Rosemont (323) and Rutgers-Camden (334). Rounding out the field were Penn State-Harrisburg (339), Lancaster Bible (344), Penn State-Abington (349) and Wilson (374).
Peyton Mussina of Penn College was the medalist with an even-par 71, one stroke ahead of DeMareo.
Senior
David Gibson placed second on the team and 17th overall with an 85, while freshman
Reid Walker tied for 18th with a round of 86. Senior
Ryan Lewbart shot a 91 to tie for 20th, while senior
Muhammad Farhan Qureshi tied for 22nd with a 92.
Rutgers-Camden hosts Stockton University Monday, Oct. 10, at the Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro.
