Lee, Raptors finish first at RU-Camden Invitational

WILLINGBORO, N.J. (Oct. 23, 2023) – The Rutgers University-Camden golf team closed out its brief fall semester season here Monday when it won its annual RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Invitational.
 
The event was held at the Par-71, 6,602-yard Rancocas Golf Club.

Rutgers-Camden finished with a 319 score in the three-team event to beat out Stockton University (345) and William Paterson University (352).
 
Scarlet Raptor sophomore Pearse Lee earned medalist honors, shooting a 5-over par 76 to finish first in a field of 19 golfers. Raptor freshman Santino Leone placed second with a 79.
 
A pair of Raptors, freshman Aidan Riley and sophomore Reid Walker, tied for fourth place with rounds of 82, while senior David Gibson rounded out the Raptors' team with an 86 to place ninth.
 
Rutgers-Camden also had three golfers playing as individuals in their first invitational action of the fall season. Sophomore Walter Pierce carded a score of 100 to finish 16th. Junior Gloria Campos finished 17th with a 107 and freshman Zachary Steward finished 18th with a 110.
