MAHWAH, N.J. (Sept. 27, 2023) – Junior centerback
Amy Maurer scored the lone goal of the game in the 53rd minute and helped the Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team post its fifth shutout of the season as the Scarlet Raptors edged Ramapo College, 1-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference action Wednesday afternoon.
The win lifts the Scarlet Raptors to 5-4-1 overall and evens their NJAC record at 1-1. The Roadrunners drop to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
For the second straight game, Maurer scored the Raptors' lone goal, but this time it was a game winner. After a corner kick by junior
Emily Owens rattled around in the box without being cleared, Maurer found the net with a low shot to the left side at 52:16. It was her third goal of the season and second game-winning tally.
Rutgers-Camden out-shot Ramapo, 14-11, including 8-4 in shots on goal, with three of those shots on goal coming off the foot of Owens. Ramapo held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.

Kayla McKeever earned her first shutout of the season for the Scarlet Raptors and her seventh career shutout. McKeever made four saves, while Ramapo senior keeper Makenna Tahbaz had six saves.
Rutgers-Camden returns to NJAC play Saturday when it travels to New Jersey City University for a 1 p.m. game.
