2023 Rutgers-Camden Cross Country Teams
Cross country teams compete at Dan Talbot Open
MEDIA, Penn. (Sept. 29, 2023) – The Rutgers University-Camden cross country teams ran their second meet of the day here Friday afternoon when they competed in the Dan Talbot Open, hosted by Bryn Mawr College at Rose Tree Park in Media, Pennsylvania.
On the women's side, Rutgers-Camden finished ninth of 10 scoring teams (211 points) in the race won by host Bryn Mawr with 52 points. The 74-women 6K race was won by unattached runner Madison Brown (24:20.21), while sophomore
Isabella Bordon led the seven-woman Rutgers-Camden team in a time of 31:36.01, finishing 35th.
Freshman
Lindsay Lopez Trejo finished 52nd (34:19.16), while junior
Alexa Wilson was 55th (34:53.91) and senior
Carly Malia was 60th (36:47.19). A trio of freshman rounded out the Rutgers-Camden team, with
Tiffany Chan placing 62nd (37:12.56),
Mya Cabanas Montero finishing 69th (42:58.58) and
Kaitlyn Novak winding up 73rd (47:49.19).
Goldey-Beacom captured the 8K men's race, which featured five complete teams. Rutgers-Camden had an incomplete team, with only four runners.
The 48-man men's field was won by Immaculata's Ivan Zavala-Zavala in a time of 28:24.37. Scarlet Raptor senior
David Morrow led his team, finishing 20th (33:46.61), while grad student
Miguel Angel Gisone finished 32nd (37:11.74). Sophomore
Maurice Obanor finished 40th overall (41:42.95) and freshman
Angel Chaj was 44th (46:45.34).
The Scarlet Raptors will return to action on Saturday, October 7, in the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Cross Country Race at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. The women's 6K race starts at 12:15 p.m., while the men run an 8K race at 1 p.m.
