Cross country teams compete at Border Battle meet
LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Oct. 19, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden cross country teams competed here Saturday at the massive Border Battle, held at the Gloucester County Dream Park.
The Scarlet Raptor men finished 18th of 21 teams (547 points) in the Men's 8K Open, while the women placed 11th of 14 (268) in the Women's 6K Open. The men's top runner, sophomore
Jacob Dinerman, ran in the Men's 8K Championship race instead of the 8K Open, and he finished 14th out of 279 runners in a time of 24:57.9.

Freshman
A'Maya Stanard led the women's team, finishing 63rd in a field of 121 runners with a clocking of 28.20.8. Junior
Xochitl Bautista-Castelan placed 70th overall (29:10.7), while junior
Isabella Bordon was 78th (30:11.4). Sophomore
Lindsay Lopez Trejo finished 87th (30:58.5), senior
Maria Lopez was 96th (33:05.1) and sophomore
Mya Cabanas Montero placed 117th (42:24.1).
In the Men's 8K Open, the top Raptor runner was freshman
Antonio Busbee, who posted a time of 32:46.5 to finish 135th in a field of 190. Freshman
Josiah Saint Elien finished 138th (32:59.9), freshman
Kristopher Ewell was 157th (35:43.1), sophomore
Angel Chaj placed 167th (38:31.3) and freshman
Daniel Casasola was 181st (47:25.9).
The Rutgers-Camden women's team will compete at the 5K Haverford Invitational on Friday, beginning at 4:15 p.m. Both Scarlet Raptor teams will run at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Nov. 2 in Ewing.
