Raptor golfers finish sixth at Albright Spring Invitational
WERNERSVILLE, Penn. (March 27, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden golf team braved the rain, cold and wind here Wednesday in horrible weather conditions to shoot a 339 score and finish sixth out of nine teams at the Albright Spring Invitational.
The event was held at the Galen Hall Golf Club.
Host Albright College fielded two teams in its invitational, with the A team shooting 320 to win the event and the B team featuring the individual medalist in Jonatan Liljeblad, who shot a 74 to win in a field of 45 golfers. Ben Egin from Albright's A team finished second with a round of 78.
For the second time in three days, sophomore
Reid Walker led the Scarlet Raptors, this time shooting an 81 to tie with five other players for fifth place. Walker shot a 79 on Monday to tie for 14th place out of 88 golfers at the Lebanon Valley Invitational.
Freshman
Santino Leone finished second on the Raptors with an 84, while freshman
Aidan Riley carded an 86 and sophomore
Pearse Lee shot an 88 to account for Rutgers-Camden's 339 score. The Raptors' fifth man, sophomore
Walter Pierce, shot a 104.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Monday when they host their own RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Invitational at the Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro.
