Leone leads Rutgers-Camden golfers at F&M Spring Invitational

LITITZ, Penn. (April 15, 2024) – Host Franklin & Marshall College saw its team shoot a 282 to win by 15 strokes at the annual Franklin & Marshall Spring Invitational here Monday.
 
The event was held at the Par 71, 6,660-yard Bent Creek Country Club and featured a field of 69 golfers. Franklin and Marshall's Roy Anderson was the medalist with a 5-under par 66.
 
Franklin and Marshall defeated Stevenson University and Catholic University, with both second-place teams carding a 297 in a field of 13 teams. Rutgers University-Camden finished ninth with a 336 team score, nine strokes behind seventh-place Dickinson B.
 
Freshman Santino Leone led the Scarlet Raptors with an 8-over par 79 to tie for 25th place, while sophomore Pearse Lee shot an 84, tying for 40th place.
 
Freshman Aidan Riley carded an 86 to tie for 43rd place and sophomore Reid Walker closed out the Raptors' scoring with an 87. He tied for 46th place.
 
The Scarlet Raptors are idle until April 27-28, when they play in the United East Conference Men's Golf Championship at the Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. The winner of that event will qualify for the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.
