Rutgers-Camden golfers tune up for United East Championships
PITMAN, N.J. (April 22, 2024) – The Rutgers University-Camden golf team tuned up for this weekend's United East Conference Championships by playing against several community college teams and a club program at the Roadrunner Invitational here Monday.
The event, hosted by Rowan College of South Jersey's Gloucester campus, was played at the Par 72, 6,480-yard Pitman Golf Course.
Team scoring
Rutgers-Camden shot a 315 team score to finish two strokes behind the club program from Stockton University and ahead of six full and incomplete community college teams.
Rutgers-Camden sophomore
Pearse Lee and Union's Patrick Murray both shot a round of 71 in the field of 39 golfers, with Lee winning medalist honors on a match of cards.
Freshman
Santino Leone shot an 80, sophomore
Reid Walker carded an 81 and freshman
Aidan Riley had a round of 83 to account for the other Scarlet Raptors counting toward the 315 team score. The Rutgers-Camden golfers also included junior
Gloria Campos, who shot a round of 100, and sophomore
Corbett Sarno, who carded a 107.
Rutgers-Camden opens play at the two-day United East Men's Golf Championship on Saturday at the Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania.
