Dinerman, Bordon lead Raptors at opening cross country meet
PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (Sept. 7, 2024) –Rutgers University-Camden sophomore
Jacob Dinerman finished third in the men's 8K race and junior
Isabella Bordon placed 30th in the women's race as the Scarlet Raptors opened their cross country season Saturday in the Philadelphia Cross Classic, held at Philadelphia's Belmont Plateau.
Dinerman posted a 29:02.91 clocking in the men's 8K race to place third of 78 athletes in his first race at Rutgers-Camden. Bordon, meanwhile, finished 30th of 71 runners in the women's 5K event, with a time of 24:34.50.
The Raptor women finished seventh of 12 teams with 189 points, while the men were eighth of 13 teams with 184 points. Jefferson University won both the men's race (40) and the women's race (20).
In addition to Dinerman, freshman
Josiah Saint Elien finished 36th for the men (33:39.76), while freshman
Antonio Busbee was 40th (34:46.29), freshman
Kristopher Ewell was 61st (38:15.95) and sophomore
Angel Chaj placed 75th (43:54.09).
In the women's race, following Bordon, sophomore
Lindsey Lopez Trejo placed 49th (28:05.27), sophomore
A'Maya Stanard was 51st (28:14.63), junior
Xochitl Bautista-Castelan was 56th (30:04.54) and senior
Maria Lopez placed 57th (30:10.02). Rounding out the Scarlet Raptors' team, senior
Adriana Bradley finished 64th (32:32.61), senior
Evelyn Macias Pilco placed 65th (32:39.91) and sophomore
Mya Cabanas Montero was 70th (35:54.52.
The Scarlet Raptors will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 14 when they run in the Osprey Open at Stockton University.
