Robert, Simone lead Raptors at Jack Saint Clair Memorial Cross Country Race
PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (Oct. 11, 2025) –Freshmen
Dejia Robert and
Joseph Simone led the Rutgers University-Camden cross country teams as they competed Saturday in the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Cross Country Race, which was held at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.
The Rutgers-Camden men finished seventh of 15 teams in the 8K race with 191 points, while the Scarlet Raptor women were seventh of 11 teams with 208 points.
The Philadelphia Runner Track Club won both races, with 22 points for the men and 28 for the women. Marc Steinsberger of the winning team finished first out of 89 runners in the 8K men's race with a time of 26:07.77. Anna Sophia Arroyo of the Liberty Track Club won the 69-athlete women's 6K race in a time of 21:41.95.
Robert finished 21st overall in the women's race in a time of 26:00.26, while freshman
Elena McGovern finished 51st (34:39.08) and junior
Lindsay Lopez Trejo was 57th (36:21.02). Sophomores
Katelynn Aurelus and
Angelina Frances placed 61st and 62nd, respectively, in times of 42:29.02 and 42:48.21.
In the men's race, freshman
Joseph Simone led the Scarlet Raptors and finished 55th overall (33:13.70), followed by freshman
Erick Lopez, who was 56th (33:13.73). Junior
Mike Olsen finished 7th (40:56.58), freshman
Kennedy Nelson was 76th (40:56.78), freshman
Jonathan Gomez placed 80th (43:39.72) and freshman
Ajani Pinkett was 82nd (45:21.92).
Rutgers-Camden returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when it runs at the Border Battle in Logan Township, beginning with the 6K women's race at 11 a.m.
